Donington Park first opened in 1931 with a 2-mile circuit based on the roads of the Donington Hall estate, after local garage owner and Derby & District Motor Club chairman Fred Craner approached Alderman John Gillies Shields JP, then the land owner, regarding their use for motorcycle racing. A permanent track was built two years later, with the original layout widened and sealed. The circuit continued to host meetings regularly until 1939, when it was requisitioned by the Ministry of Defence and used to house military vehicles during the Second World War.

Having fallen into a state of disrepair, the circuit was revived thanks to the efforts of Tom Wheatcroft in the 1970s. In the modern day, it is operated by Motorsport Vision (MSV) on a lease from the Wheatcroft family, with two permanent layouts; the 1.9-mile National circuit used by Wera Tools British F4, and a slightly longer, 2.4-mile GP circuit incorporating the Melbourne Hairpin. 

World-famous as the host venue of the Formula 1 ® British Grand Prix, Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit is world-famous, and never fails to deliver a bumper weekend of on-track action.

Nestled in the Norfolk countryside, the 2.99-mile ‘300’ circuit at Snetterton is one of the most technically demanding circuits on the Wera Tools British F4 calendar.

Two long straights – roughly equidistant around the lap – provide plenty of opportunities for drivers to slipstream and carrying momentum and precision through the infield section is vital to putting together a strong lap – one wrong move can compromise a driver’s line for three or even four corners to follow.

Factor in iconic corners such as the Wilson Hairpin (now sadly minus the famous ‘Scary Tree’) and the chicane at Brundle and Nelson and it’s immediately clear why Snetterton registers as one of the standout events of the season.

Often billed as the ‘fastest circuit in the UK’, the high-speed Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire has provided more than a fair share of iconic Wera Tools British F4 moments over the years.

Drivers spend almost the entire lap at full throttle, save for two heavy breaking zones at the Campbell-Cobb-Seagrave complex and the Club chicane at the end of the lap. The slipstream effect is potent around here, and seeing cars fan out two, three or even four wide up Woodham Hill is a regular occurrence.

If that wasn’t enough, the abrasive track surface also means tyre management is key; finding the balance between managing the car and moving through the order is a fine line. Always a fan favourite, the series’ annual visit to the Hampshire speed bowl is not to be missed!

For British F4 competitors, Oulton Park’s narrow track and limited run-off areas demand flawless focus and skill. Drivers must carefully balance aggression with caution, as even the smallest mistake can prove costly on this unforgiving circuit.

The British F4 championship embarked on its first overseas foray at Zandvoort in July 2024, and in doing so, became the first Formula 4 championship to run at the Netherlands GP track in the modern era of FIA F4.

The milestone event saw the biggest grid in the history of Wera Tools British F4, with 27 drivers who participated on the current F1 circuit just a few weeks in advance of their Formula 1 heroes whom they aspire to emulate.

Knockhill hosts Wera Tools British F4’s annual pilgrimage north of the Scottish border, and the iconic 1.27-mile Fife venue is notorious for its narrow, undulating nature – a true challenge in a single seater.

Drivers kick off each lap with blind faith; from the cockpit, the apex at Duffus Dip, a down-hill, right-hander, is almost blind, before moving back to the left under braking at Leslie’s and McIntyre’s.

The uphill Black Circles Chicane requires a committed car over the kerbs – it’s a corner where you can gain relatively little but lose plenty of time. The gradient continues to rise on the run through Clark’s and Hislop’s before drivers slam on the brakes for Taylor’s Hairpin and the run up to the line.

From its humble origins as a grassland motorcycle circuit, Brands Hatch has grown over the last seven decades to become one of the most iconic venues in global motorsport.

The 1.2-mile Indy circuit is home to some of the most famous corners in British motorsport, including the sweeping, down-hill right hander at Paddock Hill Bend, an up-hill hairpin at Druids and the technical, sharp left-hander at Graham Hill Bend.

As the name suggests, the Grand Prix layout was used to host twelve runnings of the British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986, with the ‘GP loop’ synonymous among drivers for its challenging, ‘on the limit’ nature.

With both an early-season fixture and the season-concluder in October, putting six strong races together at Brands Hatch can make – or break – a drivers’ championship bid.
